Team of the year Snailbeach received their darts league title as Pontesbury and District Darts and Domino League held their finals and Presentation night at Minsterley Parish Hall.

The league champions went through the season only dropping 3 points and comfortably beating reigning champions Bicton into second place. Bicton had the consolation of winning the challenge cup, having beaten a much improved Cygnets team.

The Bicton raced into a 3-0 lead with Bob Wynn, Gary Campbell and Paul Ashworth all winning, The Cygnets fought back with impressive displays from Steve Rowlands and Neil Southern. In the Next Game Bicton’s Captain Vaughan Owens came up against Phil Edwards. In a very tight game Edwards failed to capitalise on his superior scoring missing a host of doubles and letting in Owens to put the Bicton 4-2 up. In the next and ultimately last game Bicton’s Simon Dodd held his nerve and produced a real champions performance to beat a spirited Cygnets Tony Heron. Dodd hit double 19 to retain the Challenge Cup for the Bicton.

In the Dominoes, The Plough B clinched the title by the smallest of margins, one game, both themselves and The Horseshoes A finished on the same points, but the Plough had the superior aggregate to be crowned champions.
