| Re-arranged Match |
| The match between Mytton
Arms and The Owen Glendower will now be

| CONGRATULATIONS
TO THE BICTON |
| NOW FOR THE CUP |
| The Bicton Social
went through the season only losing one
game of dominoes and nearly getting a
100% win record in the darts, until the
Red Lion A drew with them in their final
game. The Red Lion did not have a full
team out and must feel confident that
they can defeat the League Champions in
the Cup, but before that, they have to
overcome the Mytton who ran them close in
the league a couple of weeks ago. The
Bicton play the Horseshoes in the other
semi-final who are playing very well at
this present time, I would not be
surpised if the Horseshoes nick this one. |
|
| STORMIN
NORMAN |
| Norman Price (Horseshoes
Inn) hit a 151 Checkout against the
Railway in their final league game of the
Season. |
| Message
from Ken Wakeley |
| Norman is gearing up
for the cup semi against the Bicton. Norm
is marrying Sheila Askey in the closed
season she used to play doms for the
horseshoes Who says you cant find love on
the oche. Lets hope Norman leaves his
loving tendencies at home for the semi. |

| BICTON
ARE DOUBLE WINNERS |
|
| Bicton Social
Club have won the dominoes league title.
Congratulations. Can you win the Clarry Pope
Dominoes and the Darts Challenge Cup? (I
think not). |
|
| WHITNEY'S
WONDER FINISH |
|
| Dave Whitney
(Horseshoes Inn) hit a 164 checkout against the
Cock Inn. That's probably the highest checkout of
the Season. (Let's hope you play like that in
the semis Dave). |
|
| Domino
League: Bicton V Red Lion B |
|
| The Domino
League could go to the wire. The Bicton have a
two point advantage over the Red Lion B with
three games to go. The Bicton have to Play.
Snailbeach FC, Red Lion B and Red Lion A, While
the Red Lion B have to play The Crown, Bicton SC
and the Tankerville Arms. The Bicton have only
won 1 of their last five games, drawing the
others, while the Red Lion B have only lost 1 out
of the last 12 games. It looks like it will hinge
on the penultimate game of the Season when they
meet at the Bicton Social Club. My money is on
the Red Lion to pip them. |
|

|
| Snailbeach FC,

|
| HORSESHOES BEAT THE
OWEN 5-4 IN A DOMINO CLASSIC |
|
| Deadly
Dave Evans that well known domino player from the
Horseshoes showed all his know how and experience
to win the deciding game against the Owen
Glendower to take the Horseshoes into the
Challenge Cup Semi-Finals. As you can see from the
photo on the right he is a very serious
character.

| VAUGHAN
IN A LEAGUE OF HIS OWeNs |
|
| Vaughan Owens
(Bicton Social) hit a superb 133 checkout
60-33-40 against the Tankerville Arms. (30/01/04) |
|
| vaughan came out
with a scandalous remark saying "we were the
fattest team in the league", No Vaughan we
are just a well rounded team. |

|
| Happy New Year |
|
| My Predicitions
for the New Year are, Bicton to win the Darts
League (not difficult). The Stables to win the
Domino League. Red Lion A to win the Darts
Challenge Cup (Again). The Stables to make it a
Cup double and win the domino Challenge Cup. I have to mention the game
of darts between Carl Palin(Tank) and Martin
Pope(Stables) at the Tankerville on the 2nd
January 2004. Carl had to be at his best winning
2-0, probably the best game of darts I will see
this year. Martin was on a double in both legs
but never got a shot. If Carl plays like that in
the singles, he will take some stopping, shame
Martin didn't enter, he is easily the best darts
player in our league.
I would like to
wish you all a very happy new year. Neil.

|
| BICTON
TRIUMPH OVER THE RED LION |
|
| 3-1 Up the Red
Lion were on course for a much needed win over
their rivals and defending champions The Bicton
SC, but the Bicton then won the next 4 games
taking the match 5-3. This now gives the Bicton a
3 point cushion going into the second half of the
Season and with their 100% record intact who
would bet against them defending their title once
again |
|

|
| PHONING
IN RESULTS ? |
|
| It was agreed at
the AGM BY ALL that the
home team would phone Andy Jones with the
results, so that the leagues could be
updated quickly and put into the paper
and the website on a regular basis, this
does not seem to be happening with every
team, so PLEASE could the home team
phone/text Andy Jones the results ASAP. His telephone
number is 07977 207956

|
| VERY
CLOSE IN DOMINO LEAGUE (14/11/03) |
|
| here are only 6
points separating top from bottom in the domino
league, with leaders Red Lion B
losing to the Owen Glendower,
the Bicton Social Club now have
a two point advantage over Red Lion B
and the Tankerville and with the
Horseshoes and Snailbeach
a further point behind. And with reigning
Champions The Mytton Arms holding up the league
with 4 points. A third of the season has been
played and any team could eventually be crowned
champions. |

| |
|
| 136 Checkout for Yogi
(Tankerville) 60-60-16 (14/11/03) |
|
| |
|
| Maximum
from Skelley (07/11/03) |
|
| The Tankerville went into their
darts match against the Red Lion A
full of confidence from last weeks match against
the Bicton and also taking a point off the Lion
last year, but their hopes were soon dashed by
some great darts from the away side, and leading
the way was A Downes (Skelley) hitting 152 away
in the first leag then hitting 180 in the second, the
Tankerville dominoes team did win their match
with Chris "Flash Gillard winning the
deciding game against Red Lion's Landlord Derek
Brookes, Flash was in good form "It
was like pulling teeth".
Tankerville eventually winning 5-3. |

same way. |
